The Management Assistance Program is an extension of the EAP counseling program (Employee Assistance Program) which Eupora can offer to management. As individuals, managers may also use the classic EAP. Often, though, they have specific questions on how to deal with their staff. This extension fits in with Eupora's vision and mission: supporting companies to reconcile social and economic interests in a realistic way, by offering structured, curative and preventative services to employers and management.
The MAP of Eupora offers managers of a company a discrete and independent sounding board. It helps them in their search for an efficient and humane approach to personal and/or relational problems of their employees.
Some examples are:
• How does one deal with a conflict situation between two valuable employees? • How does one provide negative (and positive) feedback? • How does one win over a critical staff member or even a critical team? • How does one motivate a disappointed employee? • How does one deal with personal problems/strong emotions of an employee? • How does one deliver a difficult message or bad news?

How does the MAP work?
The work method of the MAP is virtually identical to the EAP. Managers who find themselves confronted with a human/relationship problem related to their employees and want a sounding board, can phone the same free number (0800-number or 00800 internationally) as the EAP, 24/7. The operator refers to one of the professional Eupora coaches who will then contact the caller as soon as possible by phone. The caller will also receive an email to confirm further practical arrangements.
Generally the MAP coaching consists of three telephone calls:
• during the first call the situation is discussed, the problem areas are clarified and a choice is made for the best possible approach.. • during the second call the approach is developed further and concrete plans are made to implement the discussed interventions within a defined period of time. • during the last call the obtained results are evaluated, the efficiency of the chosen interventions and the experience itself are discussed. This to better internalize what is learned within the own management style.
As with other EAP counseling services, all conversations are strictly private and confidential. If he/she so wishes, the caller can remain anonymous. This confidentiality is of crucial importance in the philosophy of Eupora and is a formal part of the contractual agreement with the company.
All EUPORA coaches of the Management Assistance Program are certified coaches. Furthermore they all have experience in management positions within large companies and possess the necessary knowledge regarding the complex area of Human Resources. All abide by the strict deontological code of Eupora.
